Driving Innovation in Waste Industry Safety: The Hot Loads Project Launch

This week, IKON Waste Solutions hosted the Hot Loads Project Launch, bringing together the partners and collaborators supporting this important industry initiative.

Lithium-ion battery fires are an increasing risk across the waste industry. IKON Waste Solutions is proud to help fund a project focused on developing a practical technology solution to detect and suppress these fires in waste collection trucks before they escalate.

RMIT University provided an update on the technology currently being developed, including progress made toward improving early detection and fire suppression capability.

The event was also a valuable opportunity to bring everyone involved together in one place, to connect face-to-face, exchange ideas and recognise the collaboration, research and investment behind the project.
