Teams in all departments throughout IKON have been working tirelessly to keep our business and customers strong. We take this opportunity to say thank you.
Thank you for keeping healthy. Thank you for practicing good hand hygiene and for following social distancing guidelines. Thank you for helping our communities slow the tide of this wide spread pandemic that has overthrown our way of life. This includes our font-line workers, our cleaners, supervisors and managers who have operated in high risk environments and functioned so professionally to help our clients manage COVID-19 and the new-normal.
We stand with all IKON staff and first line responders undertaking important infectious control cleaning. You have risen to the challenge, made sacrifices and shown unparalleled dedication, commitment and resilience. Our deepest gratitude for your contribution and efforts.
Speak to any Victorian and they’ll tell you how tough we did it during lockdown. After 9 long months, the sun is finally out and we have the opportunity now to enjoy this once thriving city again. With many of our clients re-opening their doors we encourage everyone to Let’s Melbourne Again. Get on the back of this inspiring vision by Melbourne’s most iconic brands to reinvigorate the Melbourne we all love. Visit some of our most loved venues to once again fill them with people, laughter, life and vitality. Let’s get back on our feet Melbourne and let’s do it in a COVID safe way. Let’s be responsible but let’s enjoy the freedoms we once took for granted and support our beautiful city again.
IKON is proud to be providing cleaning, hygiene and waste services to these spectacular venues during challenging times.
This week is NAIDOC Week. It is dedicated to celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It’s a wonderful opportunity not only for Indigenous communities but for all Australians to participate in acknowledging the First Nation’s peoples story by recognising and embracing one of oldest continuing cultures in the world. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning about the 65,000+ year history of this country.
IKON kicks this week off with an Aboriginal Proverb and a reminder that we still have so much to learn.

On Remembrance Day, the IKON community takes this opportunity to acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of those Australians who served our country. We value the peace they fought so hard to achieve and the acts of heroism that defined their strength. They gave their tomorrow so we can have our today.
Lest We Forget.

National Recycling Week 9 – 15 November 2020
With the spotlight on recycling, IKON is committed, more than ever, to closing the recycling loop. As an integrated service provide we actively seek ways to interrupt the waste cycle, diverting waste away from landfill and assisting our clients in sourcing creative ways to reduce waste, recycle and achieve their sustainability agendas. Reducing and reusing saves money at home and in business. It makes commercial sense to keep valuable material out of landfill. To achieve this we all need to come together. IKON has embraced joint client initiatives that have seen diversion from landfill improve to significantly with recycling rates from 70% to as high as 98% in some sites. We walk the walk but cant do this without a genuine desire from our customers to partner in a meaningful way.
To quote Leighton Woods, Chief Operating Officer of MCEC: “I have a saying that ‘nothing substantial can be achieved in the area of sustainability without collaboration’. Collaboration and partnership are critical” We couldn’t agree more Leighton.
Let’s all become better at recycling.
In the current COVID environment training has never been more important. Having all our team attend training has help stood down employees feel connected to each other and IKON. Critically it has kept our people up-to-date and armed during uncertain and unsettling times. This has been key to our team being able to adapt in this changing environment. Its important to IKON that our people, who are on the front line every day during this crisis, feel safe, well informed and in control of their health.
IKON is proud to partner with the Victorian Young Achiever Awards 2020. This is our third year sponsoring the Sustainability Award and each year we are in awe of the creativity, inspiration and grit these young adults bring to the Awards. View the 2020 Winner via the link below. What an extraordinary group of people.
We congratulate Serena Lee, co-founder of AgTech Farmwall (Start-Up), for winning the 2020 VYA Sustainability Award. A systems thinker, Serena showed an unparalleled passion for smart, biophilic cities and is working towards creating closer connections between how we source our food supply.
IKON is honoured to play a small part in supporting front line workers during the Coronavirus Pandemic. Doctors and nurses have been working and staying locally because their jobs are so high risk and can’t go home. With every room we clean we’ve delivered a Hamper to say Thank You.
Teaming up with Prahran Market and Pino’s Fine Produce to give back to those who give so much to keep us all safe.
Today IKON joins businesses across Australia to ask R U OK?
It’s an opportunity to pause, reflect and connect with our personal and professional communities. To start a conversation that might make all the difference in one person’s life by asking R U OK.
The COVID pandemic has made 2020 a challenging year with many of us working from home, juggling home schooling, displaced from loved one and isolated from our normal lives. Now, more than ever, it is important for all of us to stay connected and be willing (if able) to support those around us.
IKON has worked hard to raise awareness of mental health and the importance of well-being. We like to think we’re more than just a workplace – at IKON we are family and families care and support each other by providing meaningful resources and the chance to share their struggles. Our management team have been reaching out to each and every employee to discuss how they’re handling changes in routine, braving uncertainty and coping with the current crisis. By doing so, we hope to foster a culture of inclusion and connectedness.
Everyone should feel comfortable sharing their experiences and everyone should have the opportunity to reach out for support.
So stop today and ask your peers, friends and family R U OK.
