Did you know that IKON Property Services has a Building License? Having started a decade ago, to compliment our overall service, our Property Service Division offers much more than just handy man works. We have a team of Licenses Builders, Qualified Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers and Painters. We routinely manage larger scale projects including commercial refurbishments, fit-outs and installations, emergency repairs and programmed maintenance and demolition works. Our aim is to exceed expectation by being on time and on budget every time.

On 3rd June every year we celebrate MABO Day. It marks the momentous victory to overturn the concept of terra nullis (land belonging to no-one) and honours the legacy of the man behind it – Eddie Mabo. The case was heard in the High Court of Australia over ten years. Sadly, Eddie Mabo died five months before the historic decision was made, so never saw the completion of his life’s work. Notwithstanding, his work is a brilliant example of persistence, passion and inspiration. A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence. We take this opportunity to thank Eddie Mabo, today and every day, for his vision and shaping our views more truthfully around colonisation.
Day 1 CPO Forum 2021
IKON had the pleasure of sponsoring the CPO Forum yesterday and kicked off Day 1 with a local discussion on ESG and its shifting importance in the Australian market. Thank you to Cain Liddle (Carlton Football Club, CEO), Jeff Niemski (Crown Resorts, Property & Environmental Manager) and our own Yasmin Assis (Sustainability Specialist) for their participation and insights. It was a collaborative day filled with unmuted talks, delicious cheese and a keynote session with the honourable Mr John Howard. What we learnt? Two heads are better than one, particularly if they have different opinions.

On National Sorry Day we acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generation Survivors, we reflect and play our part in the healing process by recognising those who were forcibly removed from their families and communities. We say sorry for the pain, suffering and hurt this caused their descendants and families left behind. We say sorry to the mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters who were broken apart. We say sorry for the indignity and humiliation inflicted on our proud First People who bring with them a rich culture based on togetherness and reverence.
IKON is proud to partnering with The Faculty again this year and participating in the 2021 CPO Forum. With an exciting agenda including Former Prime Minister John Howard, IKON is looking forward to facilitating discussion around Environmental Sustainability & Governance. More exciting news to come, CPO National Forum 2nd & 3rd June 2021.
IKON takes a moment today to recognise and celebrate the vital work that workplace and facilities managers contribute to the business world. The 2021 Theme is Celebrating FM: Standing Tall Beyond The Pandemic. As we all emerge from our homes and return to return to work, the facilities management sector has shifted its focus to human health, sustainability and resilience. Never before has the way we interact with our built environment been more important. And never before has it been more about people. Happy World FM Day!
