🌍🌿World Environment Day 2024: Land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience🌿🌍

This year’s theme focuses on restoring our ecosystems and enhancing biodiversity, in line with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030). At IKON, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint, maximising resource recovery, and supporting the circular economy.

In celebration, we are planting native shrubs at our new Tullamarine site. While it’s a small-scale effort, planting native vegetation and managing weeds provides essential habitats for birds, insects, and reptiles, and improves soil quality.

We’ve chosen the bottlebrush – Callistemon viminalis ‘Slim’ – for its suitability to narrow spaces, rapid growth, vibrant flowers, and low maintenance.
